Nicholas Schumacher is currently a Teacher of Music in the Southern
Regional School District, where he is the choir director at the Middle School level. He is also the director of the Middle
School Vocal Ensemble and the Vocal Director of the district Spring Musical. He has also taught AP Music Theory and Co-Advised
the Tri-M Music Honor Society. In addition to giving semi-annual concerts, his ensembles have performed at various community
functions throughout Stafford Township.
Mr. Schumacher received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education
from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, the State University in New Brunswick, NJ. While at Rutgers, he performed
with the Rutgers Kirkpatrick Choir, the Rutgers University Glee Club, and served as the Assistant Director of the Rutgers
University Choir and a Musical Director of the Livingston Theatre Company. He served on the Executive Boards of the school's
chapters of the American Choral Directors' Association and MENC: The National Association for Music Educators, and remains
active in both organizations. He was also involved with student governance, having been a co-founder and first Vice President
of the Mason Gross Student Government Association.
Outside of school, Mr. Schumacher currently performs with the
New Jersey Chamber Singers, and serves on its Board of Directors. He is an avid baseball and football fan, enjoys cooking,
and likes a good book when he gets the time to read one.
